Welcome to Citizen's Hose Company #1

We are located at 525 Allegheny Ave. in Glassport Borough. We currently have over 60 active firefighters including our junior membership. Our district consist of residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas. We also respond to emergencies on the Monongahela river. We were organized in 1901 and been providing fire protection ever since. Our tradition and history goes back generations and is something we all take pride and ownership in. Through the years as with any department we had some good and bad times with some of the most critical in the recent past. We believe we are stronger than ever in the service we provide, and do not take the responsibility lightly, constantly striving to get better and never accepting adequate as an option. It is this attitude we are proud of and believes it gives the residents of Glassport what they deserve. This is all made possible from the life members we appreciate greatly to the newest member. Also along with the unwavering support of our elected officials has made our department something we believe everybody in the community is proud of. From our motto "ALWAYS THERE" to the words on our patch such as BROTHERHOOD, PRIDE, TRADITION, and LOYALTY are the fabric of what we do.

As always we are looking for dedicated individuals wanting to help their neighbors and our doors are always open to new members. Fighting fire is probably ten percent of what we do, there is always a way for a willing person to contribute to our company, and ultimately the community. Our junior program which is 13 members strong and one of the aspects of our department we are most proud of can accept members once they are 14 years of age. Finally if you are a resident of Glassport and need any type of assistance such as but not limited to hanging smoke detectors, showing up at a childs birthday party, or a tour of the station feel free to call it's what we like to do.
